Wayne Moore received a call from Bob Lind yesterday informing him that he has attained one of his major goals--WINNING THE CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP AT NASHUA C.C. This is after coming close a number of times. He has won a number of Senior championships but this includes the kids 50 and under. He played extremely well and won 9-8 in the 36 hole final. I was very pleased to hear this info given that Bob has had some shoulder problems that he has overcome.
Congratulations BOB LIND! See you in the fall.
PS--Bob will be tested later this week for HGH.

On July 21st Jamie Dugal had a hole in one on hole # 8 at the Mammler Golf Course in Sterling Heights, Michigan. Jim had played there for 25 years. He hit a Gap wedge "sweet" and it took one bounce and disappeared into the hole. Yes, he had his wife and a couple of old cronies with him who witnessed his feat. This is the second hole in one he has had.
Jim is a member of our Glenlakes HOLE-in-ONE club but he has to make the Hole-in-One here at Glenlakes to clear out the $470 in the POT!!!
Congradulations on the Hole-in-ONE but sorry for it not being here. Maybe next time.

Dunes #18 Fountain Project is just getting under way. How would you like a fountain across from the Clubhouse in Dunes #18 pond? It may become a reality if we can get enough sponsors for the project. Click here for more details:
http://www.glenlakesfoley.com/html/dunes__18_fountain_project.html
If you want to donate $10, $20 or any amount it will all add up. I feel this would add a lot to Glenlakes Community and the Glenlakes Golf Club.
For sponsorships e-mail jgdubose@gulftel.com or cell phone 251-978-3069

On Thursday, playing with the Marshals at Timber Creek, Larry Morgan got an EAGLE on the second hole of the Magnolia course. He hit a drive on the uphill, par four to 180 yards from the pin. He hit his new hybrid 4 just short of the green, it took a bounce and rolled into the cup. Larry couldn't see it go in, but one of his playing partners yelled "Its in the hole!" Larry was playing with Ron Sellers, Jim Runtz and Allen Clark.
Congratulations Larry on the EAGLE. Those lessons from Courtney are really paying off!!!!!

This week the Gulf Coast Newspaper Onlooker had an insert entitled “BEST OF”. Readers voted on a number of different places, restaurants, etc. in Baldwin County. When the results were tallied, the GLENLAKES GOLF CLUB was determined the “BEST PUBLIC GOLF COURSE in Baldwin County”. Glenlakes beat out Craft Farms, Peninsula, Kiva Dunes, Rock Creek, etc.
Congratulations to the staff and management of Glenlakes!!

Another HOLE-in-ONE made at Glenlakes Golf Club!!! This time it was Kelly Robertson a holder of a Glenlake’s Player Card. Kelly was playing from the Blue Tees on Dunes #12 and was 187 yards from the green. He hit his Rayor 19* club. The ball went hit the green and went into the cup.
This was Kelly’s second HOLE-in-ONE this year, the first one was made at AC Read in February. Playing with Kelly was Dan Henderson, Ken Williams and Roger Guillaume.
Sorry Kelly but you can not be in our Men’s HOLE-in-ONE Club it is for Glenlakes Golf Club members only, otherwise you would be $400 richer. Congratulations Kelly.......did you buy everyone free beer????

Sam Strite was playing the MGA Tuesday Event. He was on Vista #5 and hit his 7 iron 145 yards toward the hole. His pink ball hit on the green, took a little turn to the left and went toward the cup. The ball was right in front of the cup when it STOPPED one inch short of the cup. Another half a turn of the ball and Sam would have had a HOLE-in-ONE!!! We were not able to use the marker because it was too close to the hole!
Sam was playing in a foursome of Jerry DuBose, Glenn Capehart and Bob Boosveld. We all held our breath because we just knew it was in the cup. This would mean that Sam would have cleaned out the $400 HOLE-in-ONE pot. NOT!!!! Sam is not a member of the club!
Now I wish Sam would have made it since he never had a Hole-in-ONE here. He has had two holes in one and both were with a 7 iron about 150 yards.
