MINUTES OF OCTOBER 13, 2009 Minutes acknowledged and accepted as written by Bob Gunterman.

TREASURER’S REPORT & 2009 MEMBERSHIP Peter Gingras reported a balance on hand in the checking account of $5,131.66. T.O.C. fund has a balance of $1,375.00.  We currently have 100 members in the M.G.A. with 3 new members: Glenn Capehart, Doug Harrall and Bobby Crawford.  The proposed list of 10 people for  Christmas gratuities was presented to the Board, along with the Santa’s Follies.  The amount of $500.00 was approved by the Board and Richard Sens will review these pay-outs and make any adjustments, if necessary.

GLENLAKES GOLF CLUB Tim Cahill reported little damage from Hurricane Ida, just a lot of water.  He stated a 3 foot by 4 foot Glenlakes flag was going to be mounted on a wall in the dining room. A budget has been presented for next year which contains sizeable projects, including cart paths, among other things.  It has not been finalized as of yet.  He reported that Courtney Mahon, a Kansas State amateur champion, will be available for the next 4 or 5 months as a golf instructor.

NOMINATING COMMITTEE REPORT Ron Sellers reported the following slate of officers for the year 2010: Larry Morgan, President; Bob Boosveld, Vice-President; Peter Gingras, Treasurer; Bob Gunterman, Secretary, and Ron Sellers, Parliamentarian. This slate will be posted on the web site and on the bulletin board and will be presented to the members at the December 5th Quarterly Meeting.

TUESDAY EVENTS Ron Johnsen reported approximately $1,200.00 will be available for the T.O.C. Tournament, $600.00 in each flight. There will be a free luncheon following golf for the 32 T.O.C. players and Grinders.  The last Tuesday of play for this tournament will be the 24th of November.

MEMBER/MEMBER TOURNAMENT Larry Morgan stated we now have 22 teams signed up to play.  The schedule will be as follows:  Friday night there’s team negotiations, and there will be a keg of beer with a cold cut dinner for players and their guest; Saturday, check-in at 7:15, tee times start at 8:00 on Vista & Dunes, and keg beer after golf; Sunday, a shotgun start at 8:30, a keg of beer with lunch for players and guest, and prizes and awards.  Golf will include a longest drive contest, longest putt and closest to the pin awards for both days. Team negotiation rules are on file. Bob Gunterman will be the auctioneer.  In case of a tie there will be a score card playoff, starting on hole 18.  Team tournament handicaps will be used.

QUARTERLY MEETING Richard Sens stated that the next Quarterly Meeting will be on Saturday, December 5th.  At this meeting Ron Johnsen will be presented with the M.G.A. Lifetime Participation Award.  Members will be asked to vote on the proposed by-law change.  The golf game for this Quarterly Meeting will be “Captain’s Choice”

MEMORIAL FOR FRED VOSLOH Richard Sens suggested that a tree be dedicated to Fred Vosloh and planted on the 10th hole, close to his home.  This will be called “The Vosloh Tree”.  Everyone was in agreement. Tim Cahill and Ron Prescott will make a recommendation on the site and kind of tree to be planted and bring that back to the next Board meeting. Fred will be honored at the December 5th Quarterly Meeting.  Dot Vosloh will be invited to attend.

OTHER BUSINESS Jerry DuBose asked for 3 minutes to talk to the membership at the Quarterly Meeting about his web site.  This was granted.
